Dayadra Mandal, representing Wetlands International South Asia, recently completed the young expert program that offers viable opportunities for young professionals worldwide. Ms Dayadra was one of the Young Experts from 9 other countries in Batch 29 of the YEP program (2023-2025).
Dayadra Mandal, Junior Technical Officer (Water Management), recently completed her two-year Young Expert Program (YEP) training, which was organized by the Netherlands Water Partnership and commissioned by the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The YEP training program is designed to promote personal and professional growth. It emphasizes three core areas of development: Individual Development, Collective Development, and Networking and innovation.
The training encompassed five critical learning tracks. The Context track equipped her with the ability to navigate various local and new contexts, essential for her role in water management. Through the Communication track, Dayadra honed her communication skills, learning to apply them effectively in her daily work. This has enabled her to articulate ideas and solutions clearly and persuasively. The Personal Development track allowed her to grow as a person and professional. She participated in project management courses and coaching sessions that sharpened her leadership abilities. Finally, The Intercultural Leadership track prepared her to lead effectively across different cultures, an essential skill in today’s globalized work environment.
One of the standout aspects of the YEP experience was gaining access to the YEP Global Network. This vibrant community of current and former Young Experts played a pivotal role in broadening her perspectives and providing her with a platform to exchange knowledge and experiences.
