31st  Governing Body Meeting

The 31st Governing Body meeting of Wetlands International South Asia was convened at Imphal, Manipur, on September 2, 2025. During the meeting, the draft annual report and the audited financial statements for 2024-25 were considered. The governing body also considered amendments to the rules and regulations of the society for effective functioning.

The meeting was followed by a field visit to Loktak Lake, a Ramsar Site, and Keibul Lamjao National Park, where the globally endangered Manipur Brow-Antlered Deer is found. Wetlands International South Asia is seeking the implementation of the water allocation plan to conserve the habitat of the deer. Followed by the field visits, the GB members held meetings with the Loktak Development Authority, the Forest Department, and the State Wetland Authority, highlighting the need for holistic management of the Ramsar site.
