Governing Body Review
The 33rd meeting of the Governing Body of Wetlands International South Asia was held in Srinagar, Kashmir, on June 17, 2026. The Governing Body considered the draft annual report and the audited financial statements for 2025-26. The election schedule of the Wetlands International South Asia Society was also reviewed.
The meeting was followed by a field visit to Wular Lake, a Ramsar Site where Wetlands International South Asia has been collaborating with the Union Territory Administration on the integrated management of the wetland. The Governing Body members also held meetings with the Wular Conservation and Management Authority in Bandipore and Srinagar to discuss conservation and effective management of Wular, and ways to further enhance Wetlands International South Asia’s contribution to wetland conservation.
