Nivedhitha M P is a Programme Associate at Wetland International South Asia.
Nivedhitha is a passionate environmentalist with a keen interest in wetland ecosystems, disaster risk reduction, and climate change adaptation. She completed her Masters in Environmental Science from the Central University of Kerala and Bachelors in Botany (Hons.) from the University of Delhi. Her joy in teaching led her to Teach For India, where she worked as a fellow. Prior to joining Wetlands International, she worked at State Wetland Authority Kerala and Sree Sankara College Kalady which inspired her to pursue a career in Blue carbon ecosystems.
Nivedhitha’s academic background and fieldwork experience have equipped her with strong analytical and research skills, motivating her to investigate the intricate relationships between wetlands, local communities, and climate systems and to emphasize the need for conserving and restoring wetlands to address pressing environmental challenges. She is committed to bridging the gap between science, policy, and community action, with a vision to promote sustainable wetland management and enhance its role in building climate-resilient landscapes.
As a Programme Associate at Wetlands International South Asia, Nivedhitha is contributing to the ‘Integrated Management of Wetlands Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services’ project.
Nivedhitha loves to travel, hike, read and watch movies in her leisure time.
