GIZ with Wetlands International South Asia conducted a two-day regional planning workshop for Pong and Renuka Integrated Management Plan’s (IMP) stakeholder consultations as a part of the IKI-funded Wetlands Management for Biodiversity and Climate Protection project, with WISA providing technical support. The workshop was held on the 27th and 28th of April 2022 in Dehradun.

This workshop is for aimed at creating a common understanding of the stakeholder consultations process, methodology, draft IMPs and to develop site-specific consultation plans for Pong & Renuka. The Centre for Ecology Development and Research (CEDAR) and People’s Science Institute (PSI) are organizations responsible for conducting the stakeholder consultations of Pong Dam Lake and Renuka Lake Ramsar sites. The members from these organizations were inducted on the institutional landscape of the two sites and the stakeholder consultation plan was made. An overview of the draft Integrated Management Plan for the two sites was also presented to inform and get feedback.
