GIZ with Wetlands International South Asia conducted a multistakeholder workshop for Pong Dam Lake’s Integrated Management Plan (IMP) as a part of the IKI-funded Wetlands Management for Biodiversity and Climate Protection project, with WISA providing technical support. The workshop was held on the 24th of August 2022 in Dharamshala.

The workshop chaired by Addl. District Magistrate Rohit Rathour aimed at bringing together all stakeholders that will play a key role in the implementation of action specified in integrated management plan. Representatives for the State Wetlands Authority, Jal Shakti, District Disaster Management Authority, Forest Department (Wildlife and Territorial), Agriculture Department, Pollution Control Board, Regional Administration, Panchayat, Police Department among others showed their active participation in the workshop.

The workshop also showcased results obtained in the community interactions and perception surveys conducted by The Centre for Ecology Development and Research (CEDAR). An overview of the draft Integrated Management Action Plan for Pong was also presented to inform and get feedback.
