Announcing a new feature on the State of India’s Birds website. An option to explore all the 867 assessed species has been added, with the ability to filter species based on several criteria, as well as a page for each species, showing distribution map, trend graph, and additional statistics. The species pages hold the first data-driven maps created for Indian birds, and the graph make clear the trends over time together with uncertainty in the estimates.

This exciting new development supplements the existing report (which mostly contains summary results, and not much species-specific output) and the accompanying excel file of species results.

State of Indian birds is the first comprehensive assessment of the distribution range, trends in abundance, and conservation status for most of the bird species that regularly occur in India. This national level assessment of birds was conducted by a consortium of 10 organisations, with Wetlands International South Asia as one of the partner agencies.
