Wetlands International South Asia is deeply grieved and saddened at the untimely demise of Dr. Dhrubjyoti Ghosh, a founder member of the Society.

Dr. Ghosh worked unrelentingly for conservation of East Kolkata Wetlands. His untiring efforts played a significant role in securing international acclaim and priority attention of policy planners to these unique wetlands.  His contribution to shaping up the draft wetland policy for the state of West Bengal were tremendous. He also actively contributed to review of national regulatory framework.

Dr. Ghosh will be ever remembered for his zeal and passion for wetlands. Wetlands International South Asia family extends heartfelt condolences to the family of Dr. Ghosh and prays that the soul of departed rests in peace. At this solemn moment, the organization rededicates itself to the cause of wetlands conservation, keeping his vision and thoughts alive.
