Wetlands International South Asia is deeply saddened by the demise of  Dr Bhavbhuti Parasharya,  Asian Waterbird Census (AWC) coordinator, for the state of Gujarat. He will be remembered for his utmost devotion and constant strive for the cause of conservation of wetlands and water birds. A fine ornithologist, he is credited with pioneering research on waterbirds, including on Indian Reef Heron and other colonial waterbirds, monitoring of flamingo and discovering a new colony in the Gulf of Khambhat. He will always remain an inspiration for the scientific fraternity.

We extend our most sincere condolences to the grieving family and friends and pray for the departed soul.
