Arif Ahmad is Programme Associate- Himalayas at Wetlands International South Asia.
Arif has a Master’s in MSc Forestry from Kumaon University, Nainital. He has over four years of experience in conservation, management, and wildlife monitoring. He has previously worked with the Wildlife Institute of India and the Wildlife Protection Department Leh, U.T. Ladakh, where he has successfully contributed to projects like Country Level Assessment of Status of Tiger, Co-predators and Prey and their Habitats in India and Project Snow Leopard.
Arif is a nature lover, and the interlinkage of wetlands and biodiversity fascinates him. Serving as a focal point in UT Ladakh, he assists in the field implementation of activities relating to the biodiversity programme and supports the realisation of the South Asia regional strategy.
His interests are trekking, birding, wildlife and landscape photography, sports, and travelling.
